Santiago buildings

So I am not going to overwhelm you with architecture photos until after I get home and can straighten them. The downside of the way I balance the camera in the wheelchair is a tendency to angle the images. Which is fine most of the time, but irritating as shit if there is a strong vertical or horizontal axis. There is a remarkable assortment of architecture here from fake Tudor to ultra modern. The Bellavista area is full of color, the whole gamut…pink, purple, vermillion, yellow.. ..mostly plain fronted, low buildings with thick walls, typical of so any old cities in hot climates. The houses of the wealthy were all fenced off, but seemed to have pretty decent gardens. There is an obvious European influence in many of the grand old buildings on the avenues (all Beaux Artes and stuff) but very nice really. Their modern architecture is easy on the eyes, but hard to photograph well. The buildings are not extreme, neither too tall nor too severe – but a pleasing balance of steel and glass, many with elegant curves. I am just posting one photo now but I promise color walls some time in the future.
